adoption song

Our names are Thommie and Miki Hicks. We live in Ohio with our daughter Lilly. Although we have been planning an international adoption for a very long time, it's only in the last few months that we took on the emotional roller coaster of waiting, paperwork and fees. As many families do, we have gone back and forth saying, "How are we going to do this?"... we pray, we budget, and we try to think outside of the box.

Our backgrounds are in various forms of art and multimedia. Thommie works in graphic design, video production and illustration. He is also a songwriter and currently plays bass in the worship band at our church. Miki is a business consultant who also works in graphic design and plays around with handmade crafty things in her spare time. This song, called Waiting, is not just a fundraiser, it is a diary of a dad who has poured his heart into words and music for his child.

We hope that you will enjoy the song and will tell your friends about it. For us, Waiting tells of our excitement, impatience and sincere love for a little girl we've never met, but hope to bring into our family very soon.

Update!!! On May 19th, 2008 we accepted a referral for a 4 year-old girl-- so we finally have a name and picture of Little Sister! We still have a great deal of fundraising to do to prepare to travel in the next couple of months. Thank you for your support, prayers and kind words along the way so far! We have been blessed by you all!

January 4, 2009-- We have been home for a few months with our wonderful girl. Our latest challenges lie in some major dental work- so as always we are incredibly grateful for your contributions and prayers.
